How Does Gasless MIG Welding Work?

MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding is the process that heats metals to their melting point with an electric arc. This arc is generated between the consumable electrode wire and the project you’re working on. The flux element of this technique presents itself as a shielding gas, protecting the arc from contaminants and removing the need to set up windshields etc. So, of course, no shielding gas is required.
